We are a 7 1/4 inch railway that is based at the Plym Valley Railway on the outskirts of Plymouth.
How we started
It all start with an idea from a member of the Plym Valley Railway, wouldn't it be nice if we have a miniature railway? After months of looking at the site and planning we found our first locomotive an 0-4-0 Ruston. In February 2016 we start to lay some track 95ft of track just to test how many people would ride a miniature railway.
Where we are now
We have about 255ft of running line down the side of one of the main railways sidings but yet again is is just a temporary home till the site for our final move is completed. We have some guest locomotives to visit.
After seen how people like to see and have a ride on the miniature railway we realised that we would need more bigger locomotives to run, so now we have a nice size fleet of locomotives and other rolling stock all we need now is the running line to match.
Plus are miniature railway team has been growing with more driver and a few training to drive, with this we have start to hire out a portable railway for events under the name of A&P Miniature Railway Hire you can find out more by clicking here.
Where we are going
We have being working hard behind the scenes to plan and get the first part of the new running line ready for laying and the new shed finished and ready for uses.
We plan to push the A&P Miniature Railway Hire more in the next couple of years as it is a good source of income for the miniature railway.
But if you ask me the future is small the future is miniature.
